MJ The Critter Sitter
We are a family owned business which allows us to give our clients the personal attention your pets deserve. I have been in the animal field for 15 years, I graduated from Globe College of Business with my Associate in Applied Science degree and have worked in small animal clinics where I took care of post surgical pets, performed dental cleanings, radiology, I assisted in surgeries, I gave injections and fluids and many other clinic duties. I also have personal pet experiences. I have always had dogs and cats, and have had birds, rabbits, lizards, and guinea pigs. I love them all!! Each one of our pet sitters and dog walkers have some animal experience and will love and care for your pet like they are their own.
Clint: My husband and business parnter. Clint works full time for Forklifts of Mn. and he also helps me take care of dog walks and pet sitting when I need him. He is great with dogs, they just love him!! I cannot forget about our two smaller helpers our boys Jake and Josh. They accompany me once in awhile on my visits and are great with animals and love them.
Jennifer: Lives in Hugo. She is available for dog walks and pet sitting. Jennifer has a cat named Carmen and loves all animals. Her experience includes working at Oneka Pet Resort.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give pet owners the confidence and freedom to travel without worrying about their pets well being. We come to your house to care for your pets and take care of their daily needs when you are unable to. This may be when you are on vacation, traveling for business, or working late hours. Each and every animal under our care is unique and special. We will give them lots of TLC and our complete attention. We pride ourselves in keeping a small town, friendly approach to our pet care services.
Scheduling
New Clients
If you are a new client please contact Mary Jo at 612-807-7850 or fill out the form on our contact us page to set up your free initial consultation. This meeting will help familiarize the sitter with your pets and home and give you an opportunity to go over your pet's individual routine and special dietary and exercise needs. We also have some initial paperwork for you to fill out which we can e-mail you ahead of time.
Current Clients
If you are a current client you can schedule a visit online at our contact us page or give us a call 612-807-7850. We keep all of your information on file so we're ready to go when you call. If you have made any changes please let us know so we can make any adjustments.
Continuity Of Service
We prefer to have the continuity of the same sitter assigned to your pets and will do everything we can to make that happen for you. However, if your primary MJ The Critter Sitter and/or walker is unavailable then a substitute team member will be assigned. Once you become a client of MJ The Critter Sitter you receive the peace of mind knowing you have hired a professional service that is able to offer consistent and reliable pet care when ever you need it! Quite simply, this is something an independent dog walker cannot assure.
Holidays
We pet sit and dog walk 365 days a year! We do charge a holiday fee of $10.00 per visit for all dog walking, pet sitting and/or overnight stays taking place during all Federal holidays. This is a way for us to reward the sitters who are giving of their holiday time.
Payment
We accept checks, cash, and credit/debit cards online
*because of the increase in rate charges for credit card processing we are not taking credit or debit cards at this time.
Rates
Please check our Services and Rates page for details. Though pet care can become costly, MJ The Critter Sitter takes pride in the fact that we offer something quite special. Sure, you can hire a neighbor to look after your home and pets, but are they bonded and insured? Probably not. Doggie Day Care/Boarding can be an appropriate choice, but it's also a more costly and impersonal pet care option. Studies have proven that pets relax and thrive in their own home environments. Not only does using MJ The Critter Sitter allow for that freedom and relaxation, but also we do the little things that can mean so much. We pick up your mail, newspaper, water your plants, can administer medication to your pets, and spend one-on-one quality time with your pet at no additional cost! As an added benefit, just your pet sitter's recurring presence at your home provides for heightened security and peace of mind.
Gratuities
Our sitters and walkers may accept gratuities. You may leave a gratuity for the sitter at your home or you may call the MJ The Critter Sitter office to have the gratuity added to your pet sitting bill if you'd like.
Pet Safety/Health Considerations
Insured and Bonded
We are insured and bonded for your protection and peace of mind. All of our pet sitters and dog walkers are insured and bonded through
Medications
As long as your animals do not pose a threat to the sitter, we are happy to administer medication to your pet. However, all pet owners are responsible for providing detailed instructions for any and all medication to be administered to their pet(s) by including this information within the paper work filled out at our consultation.
